Welcome To Stockholm: Team Jones

They are superstars and have traveled across Canada to receive the people’s tributes ever since they won the Olympic gold medal in Sochi. Now they come to Danderyd Curling Arena and Stockholm Ladies Curling Cup in September to try to win the first transatlantic victory at SLCC.

We are super excited to announce the participation of Team Jennifer Jones from Winnipeg, Canada, in SLCC 2014!

With a stunning season, winning six out of nine events including the Winter Olympics, Jennifer and her teammates Kaitlyn Lawes, Jill Officer and Dawn McEwan ended as the number one ranked team in the world.

It’s not the team’s first visit to Europe and the Curling Champions Tour though. In the 2011-2012 season they won in Oslo and were finalists in the International Bernese Ladies Curling Cup the same year.

To win in Stockholm Jennifer will have to bring her A-game as the other contestants all are aiming to beat the best, and it’s going to be lots of good teams in the chase.

Welcome back to Stockholm: Team Sigfridsson

Leading the Swedish resistance is Team Margaretha Sigfridsson. The reigning European Champions, 2008 SLCC Champions, Olympic silver medalists and two times World Championship silver medalists are sticking together in their quest for more medals to hang round their necks.

Last year Maria Prytz, Christina Bertrup, Maria Wennerström and skip Margaretha Sigfridsson reached the quarterfinals in SLCC where they lost a very tight game to Victorya Moiseeva from Russia. Surely they are hoping for a good start on the upcoming season and aiming for the top position.

We wish the team best of luck and welcome to Stockholm!
